Lyrical Opera Theater posts a lot of content about each opera production here on our website that you may want to browse ahead of time to help you become more familiar with the opera before you go. In addition, when you arrive at the opera, it will help if you read through the program's opera synopsis so that you can follow the action on the stage.
Many people enjoy dressing up when they go to operas, but there's no dress code. At Lyrical Opera Theater you'll see people wearing everything from ball gowns and tuxes to shorts and T-shirts. Feel free to dress up for a special night out, dress down for comfort, or find your own happy medium.
Yes! All Lyrical Opera Theater performances have clear, large English supertitles projected above the scenery for the audience. You'll experience the enjoyment of hearing our operas sung in the beauty and grace of their original languages and will be able to easily follow what is happening. Our operas are sung in their original languages to preserve their artistic integrity and musical expression. Music with lyrics is meticulously composed to match note by note the expressions and accents of each word and syllable following the natural ebb and flow of the language. Supertitle translations retain the dense colors and poetry of the original languages and more closely match the integrity of the musical expressions.
We recommend arriving at the theater at least 20 minutes before the performance begins to give yourself plenty of time to get tickets, check out the theater, find your seats and to get to know our singers that are presented in-depth in our pre-show program projections. If you arrive late, you'll be seated at the back of the theater, then you'll be able to take your reserved seats at intermission so as not to disturb other guests.
There is plenty of parking adjacent to the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center.
Just click on our Tickets tab to access our online ticketing system. Our opera tickets are purchased through Arttix. To assure you have wonderful seats, reserve tickets early. When you arrive, you'll be shown right to your seats...no waiting in line. However, tickets can be purchased at the door providing there are still seats available.
Concessions will be sold in the lobby.
